The aim was to create a corner inside the terminal that would encourage passengers to stop and relax before starting a long flight, and if it could also be integrated into the architecture of the building, all the better, and thanks to Green Furniture Concept and specifically to Marta Florensa this has been achieved.
This project consisted of replacing the existing comfort area in Terminal 4 Satellite, which offered little seating capacity and little use of floor space, to create a functional area with a marked biophilic character that offered reclining seats for greater user comfort, seats with backrests to offer greater seating capacity, planters and our sound absorbing Leaf Lamp Tree lamps that contributed to the creation of a pleasant and natural environment.
To increase passenger satisfaction, we not only thought about their comfort and the overall design of the area, but also to enhance their experience by adding integrated chargers on the benches to charge their electronic devices, tables to work or have a coffee and armrests for added comfort. It was an exercise in enhancing the end-user experience.
This comfort zone demonstrates that Green’s Placemaking design combines in a single project values such as functionality, sustainability and the creation of attractive places that promote people’s wellbeing.
In addition, sustainability has been a very important factor for AENA from the beginning.

Sustainable design
Designing furniture made from renewable, recycled and recyclable materials
Maintainability
Offering an easily maintainable solution that allows the furniture to look as good as new over the years.
Reforestation programme
Thanks to this project, 99 trees have been planted which will undoubtedly contribute to reducing our carbon footprint.
The result of this project is visibly very attractive, a place that invites calmness and makes passengers perceive the waiting time in a pleasant way.
