The project has improved the experience and satisfaction of users, who immediately since its installation have shown a preference for using this area versus the traditional benches.

Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport wanted to incorporate an area with a high seating capacity given the volume of passengers that pass through Terminal 1 every year. Aena was looking to offer a comfort zone that would add value to the place with a sustainable, flexible, biophilic design. Something that would generate a wow effect for passengers, creating in turn, a memorable place in the minds of the users.

Green Furniture Concept developed a large piazza in which all our series were included. Under the philosophy of placemaking design a pleasant place rich in textures, shapes and colours generate sensations among visitors.

In an area of approximately 192 m2, with a seating capacity of 188 people our Ascent and Nova C series have been combined to create small squares that facilitate interpersonal communication between groups of passengers, while also leaving space for individuality.

The project has improved the experience and satisfaction of users, who immediately since its installation have shown a preference for using this area versus the traditional benches.
The landscape at the start of the longitudinal dyke has been modelled with organic shapes, colours that generate wellbeing both in the wood tones of the benches, the green steel finish of the armrests, planters and our Leaf Lamp Link Tree with a mixed finish in three shades of green that give continuity to the whole space.

The modular design of Green Furniture Concept’s furniture allows for future reconfiguration of the space in case of changing needs or the addition of modules to provide more seating capacity when required. A flexible area that makes it easy to adapt the layout to new shapes and continue to surprise customers in the future.
